School may be out, but hands-on learning is the summer theme here at McLane. Customers from Alaska, Canada, and Oregon have traveled to our office for the product training included at no charge with their instrument purchase. As customers have prepared for IFCB, RAS, PPS and ITP, deployment success, our summer interns have gained first-hand experience with McLane instruments and jobs.
Kathleen Desmond, who completed her second McLane internship, returns to the University of Rochester after the summer, and says that her internship “has given me a sense of how much work and communication goes into every project. In school, the problems focus on one small part to illustrate a new concept, but after working [at McLane], I know that every small change can affect the entire instrument, and communicating those changes is key.”
“I get to observe and assist the engineers and marketing team,” says Sean Tynan, who will be a high school senior in the fall. “This helps me learn about all the jobs needed to build and sell McLane instruments.”
For instrument users, hands-on training is available at the McLane facilities in East Falmouth, MA USA. Several hours of tailored interactive instruction and discussion include operational bench testing and deployment programming. Whenever possible, we utilize our 15 m deep test tank during the training. Click for more information about hands-on product training at McLane.
