At a recent NOAA Emerging Technologies for Observations Workshop convened by the NOAA Observing Systems Council, McLane IFCB and ESP were highlighted as part of NCCOS efforts to provide early warnings as well as effective monitoring and forecasting of harmful algal blooms.

McLane named to 2016 MTR 100

McLane is pleased to announce it has been named to the 2016 Marine Technology Reporter (MTR) Top 100 list. We extend our sincere appreciation to the editors and staff at Marine Technology Reporter for this honor. McLane was previously named to the MTR Top 100 in 2012, 2013, and 2015.

IFCB at Innovators’ Forums

The Imaging FlowCytobot IFCB was part of two recent Cape Cod, MA events where diverse audiences exchanged ideas about marine innovations and discussed growth in rapidly emerging marine innovation businesses. McLane GM Jon Mogul spoke at the Cape Cod Commercial Fisherman’s Alliance International Trade event as part of the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution (WHOI) technology innovations segment.

Summer ESP Deployments

ESP samplers are helping US regulatory agencies and shellfish managers spot potential harmful algae blooms this summer along the East and West Coasts. In the Gulf of Maine, three ESP sites will monitor for the presence of toxin-producing Alexandrium fundyense and Pseudo-nitzschia, while along Seattle's La Push coast in the Pacific Ocean, an ESP will sample for dangerous levels of the
