On 9 November, Engineering Director Tim Shanahan will present “Prawler Technology Transfer and First Article Deployment” at the Marine Autonomy & Technology Showcase (MATS) in Southampton UK. Now in its 9th year, MATS has become a key event in the marine technology calendar, attracting delegates from around the world. The 3-day event features presentations and offers a unique opportunity to glimpse into the future of marine autonomous technology. In addition to the Prawler presentation, McLane will exhibit in Stand 28 .
Attendees can explore McLane’s new eDNA sampler, the Robotic Cartridge Sampling Instrument (ROCSI), discuss their science needs, and learn more about McLane’s product development plans.
The Prawler, a moored wave-powered profiling instrument for the upper 500 m of the water column, was developed at NOAA’s Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL). Following years of field-proven deployments in varying oceanographic locations and conditions, McLane and PMEL partnered in a 2017 Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA).
