(June 11, 2020) We urge McLane customers to be vigilant about scams that are on the rise since the COVID-19 pandemic.
A customer has received a fake email from us instructing them to change the bank and account to pay a McLane invoice. This scam used the name of a current McLane employee, a McLane logo, and referred to a valid project tender.
Our alert customer checked with us immediately and we confirmed we did not send this email.
Your security is important to us. Please be aware of the following:
- Check the sender address of any email from McLane. All McLane email is sent from an @mclanelabs.com address.
- Use our wired payment instructions as provided on our McLane invoice.
- Notify us immediately if you are concerned about email requests involving payments.
- See other tips from the US Justice Department, about current scams.
