Maintaining your sampler from deck to lab is critical for long instrument life. After instrument recovery, a few basic steps can avoid emergency service before the next deployment:
- After removing sample bottles, sample bags, or filter holders, rinse sampler with fresh water.
- Connect the COM cable and offload all data from memory.
- Open the controller housing. Unplug the battery connector from the electronics.
- Remove drop-in batteries from the battery holder if applicable, and re-seal the controller housing.
- Back in the lab, un-crate and re-rinse the sampler. Lightly scrub the controller housing and other external components. Remove and inspect controller housing internals, and check controller housing o-rings.
- Check the drive motor oil bladder and inspect the pump, if applicable. For the PPS and RAS clear fluid paths and fixative plumbing and inspect the pump; for WTS-LV pumps clean and inspect filter holders, and for Sediment Traps remove the rotator and rinse ball bearings with fresh water.
- See your User Manual for additional sampler-specific maintenance steps.
